The Gift

This was actually the start of my painting “career”. For my birthday I got a He-Man Battleground board game. I was excited, since the figurines on the box looked really cool. And then I opened the box… All the figurines needed to be assembled to at least be able to play with them, and they were solid purple and beige. Fortunately I had a colleague who was a professional model painter, who advised me what to get and how to do it.

Avengers! Assemble!

After cutting, sanding and gluing everything together, I had about 10 figurines and 10 bases to paint, apart from tons of wall parts with lots of detail.

CH 03 Prime

PrimeTime

After assembling everything I needed to start priming. I got acquainted with zenithal priming to get some built-in shading.

CH 04 Paint

The First Batch

These are the first minis I painted, and it was a moderate success. I struggled with the faces, which lack detail, and the shading got a bit lost. But still, they look fine for what they need to do.

The Sssecond Batch

These were really fun to do. With the experience gathered from the base figurines, I was really excited for these. The details on the Snake Men models were amazing to work with, and they turned out great.
